While the Disney Card perks and rewards may appease the biggest Disney fans, this rewards card is exclusively for Disney-related rewards – so you can’t redeem your Disney Dollars for anything besides that.
There are plenty of other reward cards out there (that don’t require you to pay an annual fee) that can offer better rewards – or even cash back – on purchases related to travel.
Can You Use A Disney Credit Card Anywhere?
Yes, your Disney Visa card can be used anywhere major credit cards are accepted.
However, these transaction types do NOT qualify for Disney Reward Dollars:
- balance transfers
- cash advances
- travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions
- lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions
- any checks that access your Account
- interest
- unauthorized or fraudulent charges
- fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable
How Much Are Disney Reward Dollars Worth?

- Rewards Dollars and Redemption Cards do not have cash or monetary value. They can’t be redeemed for cash or its equivalent, and any unused portion is not returnable as cash.
- Rewards Dollars are not purchasable by cash or any other form of monetary or other payment. Redemption Cards (or any remaining Rewards Dollars balance) may not be exchanged or substituted with cash, other rewards certificates, or other financial compensation regardless of the number of Rewards Dollars remaining on the Redemption Card.
- Rewards Dollars can’t be transferred by operation of law, such as by inheritance, in bankruptcy or in connection with a divorce.
Are Disney Credit Cards Worth it?
My family and I love Disney, and as such, this is a great card for me because we go to the parks all the time. In fact, TheDisneyMom.com recommends this card as one of the best for park visitors.
If you open a “Premier” account, you’ll receive an initial bonus (or statement credit) for spending at least $500 within the first three months of account opening, in addition to 2% back on Disney purchases as well as purchases made at gas stations, restaurants and grocery stores – plus 1% back on everything else. Your earning potential depends on how much you spend in those categories. Your ability to redeem your earnings, on the other hand, will depend on how often you make Disney purchases or indulge in air travel.
All that said, if you are a die-hard Disney fan who would enjoy the discounts and special events/ character meet ups – look no further, this is the card for you.
However, if you’re wanting to travel to more places than just Disney – there are plenty of other rewards cards out there that have better rates that you can use to redeem rewards almost anywhere.
If Disney won’t necessarily be a recurring destination for you – Here are some other rewards cards with better perks:
